Steve is married to Ali and they have three children. He has been a long-standing member of Christian Life Centre.

Previous to his appointment as pastor he spent ten years working as a chaplain at a centre for refugees, asylum seekers and those with immigration issues. Steve regularly visits Uganda where he helps run an orphanage and school project with the charity Friends Reaching Out.
